Huntleigh Makes Foodbank Donation

This month Huntleigh joined the wider Arjo family in making a donation to the Trussell Trust food bank. Throughout August all Arjo offices throughout the UK brought in food and other essentials to be passed to foodbank users.
All Arjo locations throughout the UK donated to the Trust, with Huntleigh office in Cardiff raising nearly 50 kilograms of food; enough to provide five people with three meals a day for three days. Staff donated at various collection points from around the facility, which were then delivered by HR Business Partner Sharon Jones and Marketing Executive Jack Griffiths.
Sharon commented “It was great to work with our colleagues in Arjo to help such a worthy cause, and I’m really proud of the contribution from Huntleigh. Every meal we can provide is important, to have fed five people is fantastic.”
Huntleigh and Arjo are maintaining their commitment to the Trust, with another food drive planned to take place before the end of the year.
Trussell Trust supports a nationwide network of over 1,200 foodbanks, which provided 2.5 million three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis in 2020/21. The Trust also aims to attack the root cause of foodbank use, by challenge the structural issues that lock people in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
Donating 50kg of food isn’t the only way to help the Trust though. If you’d like to support their valuable work, the Trussell Trust website has a variety of ways you can contribute, including monetary donations and fundraising.
