New additional functionality extends the reach of the SC300 Spot Monitor Series.
We are pleased to announce a significant enhancement to the SC300 series of spot check vital signs monitors. The SC300 is a powerful, flexible platform offering healthcare professionals a range of measurements including; non-invasive blood pressure, pulse rate, pulse oximetry and a wireless tympanic temperature option.
Regular blood pressure measurements are an important component of the assessment of a patient’s vital signs.
Now the Smartsigns Compact 300 is capable of delivering three types of blood pressure measurement offering you the chance to undertake:
- Manual measurements
- - Measurements made on demand.
- Automatic measurements
- - Measurements may be made at pre- determined intervals – 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 60 min intervals or CO.
- CO (continuous) measurements
- - Multiple sequential measurements made in a five minute period.
This enhancement is included in all models within the SC300 series available from July 2018 and offers clinicians greater flexibility when monitoring blood pressure at no additional cost.

Huntleigh donates Easter Eggs after theft Huntleigh are happy to have donated Easter eggs after the original ones destined for maternity staff at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board were stolen from the car of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) Cardiff Branch Secretary, Sarah Spencer, last month. Darren Meilak, Huntleigh Healthcare’s Global Head of Marketing. “I saw Sarah’s tweet that her car had been broken into, I obviously felt for her – it’s an awful situation to find yourself in. What really hit home, though, was the fact that it wasn’t the stolen designer sunglasses that she was most upset about, but the Easter eggs she had ready for her team. These were meant for all the midwives and support staff working over the Easter period,” said Darren. “At a time when those involved in the NHS are under immense pressure, the thought that those so worthy of our gratitude were going to lose out on a little pick me up, galvanised us at Huntleigh to see how we could help.” The replacement eggs were presented to Sarah by Darren and Huntleigh’s Product Manager, Stacey Tyler. The eggs will be shared among the maternity staff as a treat for working over the Easter weekend, and they are all waiting eggspectantly for them. Sarah said she was delighted to go and collect them and that Huntleigh Healthcare had not only upgraded the eggs to bigger ones, but actually given them even more, upping the number of stolen eggs to 65. “The small gestures make all the difference during these times. And it reminds us that there are really kind people out there,” she added.

Leg Club are proud to be a LCIP Stakeholder Being able to understand the needs of the people we are here to help is vital to the service we provide. Exploring an individual’s perception of their problems, demonstrating a deeper understanding of their health status and recognising the impact on their lives of living with a leg wound, provides Leg Club Industry Partners (LCIP) with new and important information. Involving members (patients) as stakeholders ensures that their views, experiences and interests are central to LCIP relationship. The Leg Club members’ (patients’) views need to be heard within all levels of government if the NHS is to be responsive to their needs. Only they can understand the day-to-day realities of their condition and are best placed to decide what form of wound/compression management can help them to manage pain, remain independent and enjoy a better quality of life, enhancing the relevance of outcome measures in terms of the lived experience. The LCIP provides support both to the clinical team and members through company representatives visits. Being able to understand their needs and then discuss directly with the healthcare industry, helps to keep members’ views at the forefront of wound/compression development.
We are proud to be a stakeholder of the LCIP, which, through regular engagement with clinicians, commissioners, public bodies and parliamentarians seeks to improve understanding of the views of Leg Club members, ensuring they are factored into NHS and policy decisions.

Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of South Glamorgan, Morfudd Meredith who formally presented the award to Huntleigh said, “ I was delighted to recently present Huntleigh Healthcare Limited with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its new range of digital handheld Dopplers and its outstanding performance in the field of innovation. It was a privilege to be shown around its Cardiff premises by Peter Cashin the Managing Director and to learn more about the company’s exciting and pioneering work and in particular to meet some of the staff who must be very proud of their achievements. The excellent presentations from staff and clinicians provided a further fascinating insight into the company and its work and I was pleased to note that the company is in the process of developing other world class products also. The company has demonstrated true excellence in what it does, providing inspiration for others. The company is also a great example of a manufacturing business in our Capital City which has survived and thrived in the competitive global export market through the high quality design and manufacture of innovative products in the healthcare space ‘’.
